Gratitude and Looking Forward – January 2018

As we start off the New Year with fresh perspective and enthusiasm, I’d like to share our  gratitude for an impressive end to 2017 and provide a look ahead to what’s in store for the next six months.

In August at Back to School night I asked you to envision what our schools would look like without Music, Art, Science and Technology. Programs that are essential in providing our children with the best possible educational experience. And I asked for your support so that every student could count on SPARK to provide these educational opportunities.

Five months later I am thrilled to share that this community responded in a powerful way  by starting 2018 with nearly 58% of the families in our District having donated or pledged to support this year’s Annual Giving campaign. While this number is remarkable, we still have work to do. This is why we ask that each and every family come together to help us achieve our $1.3M goal.

In addition to working for 100% participation in Annual Giving, we have three big fundraising events this spring: Online Auction (March 13-19), Spring Spotlight Gala (May 5) and Giants Night (June 1). We hope that you will enjoy attending or supporting these events as they are not only fundraisers, but also fantastic ways to build community.

As the SPARK Board focuses on the future, I also want to invite each of you to consider how you can get involved. SPARK is made up of parent volunteers committed to making a difference in our schools and there are always opportunities both large and small. Please contact us to learn more.

Thank you for your continued support for our students and our schools. Together we are making a difference.

With gratitude and best wishes to each of you for a happy and prosperous New Year.
