MARKETING/COMMUNICATIONS LEAD
SPARK, the Larkspur-Corte Madera Schools Foundation is looking for an energetic Marketing/Communications Lead to work an average of 15 hours per week for approximately 45 weeks per year. Must be able to work with a volunteer board and be willing to take both initiative and direction.

Position Summary
While reporting to the SPARK Executive Director, the Marketing/Communications Lead is responsible for working with the Executive Director, Board Officers and Chairs to establish the messaging for the Foundation’s annual fundraising activities and providing creative direction for all campaigns and events, which may include the Annual Giving brochure, SPARK Biz Directory, creative assets for events, donor decals, flyers, banners, and other assets on an as-needed basis. The MarComm Lead is also responsible for overseeing the ongoing updates to the SPARK website (www.SPARKschools.org) and developing and maintaining the school-year communications plan for all SPARK related fundraising efforts.

Responsibilities
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following tasks and duties:

  • Social Media Management with support from volunteer Board member in order to increase traffic to and usage of:
    • Website
    • Facebook
    • MailChimp
    • Instagram
  • Archive and maintain all current and recent collateral materials including logo, promotions, and campaigns
  • Manage and direct graphic design needs to be produced
  • Manage print vendors for Annual Giving brochure, SPARK Biz Directory, and event materials
  • Write and manage the SPARK news for the school weekly emails
  • Coordinate editorial volunteers for the Spring Online Auction

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of various marketing and communications tactics, technology and software, including but not limited to: graphic design (ideally in Adobe Creative Suite), WordPress (or similar website content management), social media (including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.), and email marketing tools such as MailChimp
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, be detail-oriented and well organized, and able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Knowledge of the Larkspur-Corte Madera School District and parent organizations highly desirable
  • Knowledge and/or experience with education foundations a plus

Compensation
This is a contract, hourly, part-time (approximately 15 hours/week) position with occasional weekend and evening hours required.

Hourly rate commensurate with experience.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
SPARK, the Larkspur-Corte Madera Schools Foundation is looking for an energetic administrative assistant to work an average of 15-20 hours per week for approximately 45 weeks per year. Must be able to work and motivate volunteer board and be willing to take both initiative and direction.

Position Summary
While reporting to the SPARK Executive Director, the Administrative Assistant will support Board activities and be responsible for the daily administration of SPARK (Larkspur-Corte Madera Schools Foundation). This includes overall office support, coordination and support for fundraising events, database support and business operations in accordance with standard business practices.

Responsibilities
The Administrative Assistant responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following tasks and duties:

  • Provide support for SPARK Executive Director, executive team, fundraising and communications committees to maximize fundraising efforts
  • Maintain donor files and manage and update spreadsheets and database for contact/mailing/email lists for donors and prospects
  • Provide support for fundraising events
  • Recruit, compile, and maintain list of volunteers and coordinate volunteer activities as needed
  • Coordinate direct mailings
  • Attend SPARK Board meetings and provide support for fundraising events including Golf, Fun Run, Annual Giving campaigns, Biz partnership campaign, Online Auction and Spring Spotlight
  • Assist in development of communication to parents, businesses, and District constituents

Qualifications

  • Fluency and facility with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with database management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, be detail-oriented and well organized, and able to work in a fast paced environment
